Linde-Griffith designed and installed Full Displacement Piles (FDP) with 125-ton axial compressive capacity and 10-ton lateral capacity for use at the Jersey City Medical Center ED/OR Project. Caissons or Micropiles would not achieve the design capacity required. Despite these project challenges, Linde-Griffith’s FDP attained a 10-ton lateral capacity, allowing the engineers to redesign the pile/pile-cap connection to a free-head condition, reducing costs without disrupting normal hospital operations.
